There are many interesting and enjoyable festivals and events held in the area, both in the towns and the small villages. We list some of these below.
Easter: Citta' di Castello holds an Easter procession in the town centre.
May: Assisi: festival of Calendimaggio; Gubbio (15th): Festa dei Ceri.
May/June: Spello (Corpus Christi): Flower petal compositions.
June: Bevagna: Il Mercato delle Gaite - a lively re-enactment of mediaeval life, trades & craftwork.
July: Perugia: Umbria Jazz.
August: Montone: Donazione della Santa Spina - a week of festivities including a historical procession in period costume; Monterchi: weekly classical concerts.
August/September: Citta' di Castello: Festival delle Nazioni - Chamber Music Festival featuring a different guest country each year.
September: Monterchi: Polenta Festival; Pistrino: Grape Festival; Sansepolcro: Crossbow Competition; Citta' di Castello: Antique Book Fair, National Horse Show.
October: Perugia: Eurochocolate Fair; Montone & MSM Tiberina: Autumn Festivals; Caprese Michelangelo: Chestnut Festival.
November: Citta' di Castello: Truffle & Woodland Products Fair.
