The Farmhouse
Casa Tersalle is a 300-year-old 'casa colonica', the Italian name for a traditional farmhouse.

The farmhouse forms part of a small hamlet and is situated in stunningly beautiful, tranquil countryside in central Italy, in the northern part of Umbria, close to the border with Tuscany. The house is easily reached from numerous airports - Perugia, Bologna, Florence, Pisa, Ancona, Rome. (See also Where We Are page.) The other house in the hamlet is occupied by a friendly local Italian family who farm the surrounding land.
Experience the real Italy
Casa Tersalle is an ideal choice if you are looking for comfortable accommodation in the Italian countryside, somewhere to relax and enjoy a taste of the natural beauty and the many sights that this still unspoilt part of Italy has to offer. If you enjoy nature and walking, there are plenty of possibilities in the area, superb views and an abundance of wildlife to enjoy. Within easy reach, in addition to the many attractive mediaeval hilltop villages, there is Italian culture, art and tradition to be found in towns and cities such as Assisi, Perugia, Arezzo, Siena and Florence.
Comfort and character

We (the New Zealand/English owners, Rob and Jane) bought Casa Tersalle in 1988 after falling in love with the area and deciding to settle here. We moved in and then had the house carefully restored, with an eye to retaining the original farmhouse character: ceilings with exposed wooden beams, tiled floors, wooden shutters, open fireplace and woodburning stoves are among the features. At the same time we incorporated modern facilities and comforts in the kitchen and bathrooms. All the rooms are light, spacious and fully furnished in a simple but comfortable manner.
Relax
There is a large sunny south-facing terrace where you can sit and relax, eat, drink, chat and generally while away the time while taking in the magnificent views of the surrounding fields and a small lake, with a backdrop of green wooded hills.
Then in the evening you can perhaps sit under the stars and watch the fireflies dance...
There is also a small garden below the terrace. Garden furniture, sun umbrellas and a barbecue are provided. NB - If you enjoy painting, don't forget your pad and colours - this is the ideal spot!
